Why a modular approach matters

At its core, SIP is a physical, modular drinking cup — designed to evolve as children grow, so parents don’t have to keep starting over.As children grow, their drinking needs change — but most products are designed as one-off solutions. Parents often cycle through multiple cups in just a few years, unsure what actually differs from one option to the next or when it’s time to move on. The result is frustration, clutter, and a lot of second-guessing over something that should be simple.SIP is being developed around a modular approach, informed by interviews with pediatric occupational and speech therapy professionals and publicly available feeding guidance — with an emphasis on thoughtful design, clarity, and long-term use rather than isolated products or short-term fixes.
